My Favorite Jam Recipe: Kiwi Jam

Kiwi Jam
Printable Recipe

This recipe yields about 5 half-pint jars. Select fruit that is slightly under-ripe (still firm when you squeeze it).

Ingredients
5 kiwi (peeled and chopped)
1 Package Powdered Pectin
1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
4 cups sugar

Combine kiwi, pectin, and pineapple juice in a large pot. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Add sugar, stirring until dissolved. Return to boiling. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Fill hot canning jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Add lids and process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes.

High altitude instructions
1,001 - 3,000 feet : increase processing time by 5 minutes
3,001 - 6,000 feet : increase processing time by 10 minutes
6,001 - 8,000 feet : increase processing time by 15 minutes

8,001 - 10,000 feet : increase processing time by 20 minutes

I like to give this jam as a Christmas gift. If you give canned good as gifts, then a decorative jar topper kit is an easy way to make your canning jars look fancier.

  3. Last fall I attempted canning jam for the very first time! I made Ginger Pear jam and gave it as gifts with a scone mix I put together! It turned out better than I expected and I wish I would have made more! I can't wait to try another flavor this summer.

I almost tried a kiwi jam instead of the pear. Maybe I will try it next time.

    Love you blog! Great Idea!

  7. The kiwi is rich in minerals like potassium, magnesium and fiber and is very good for the woman because kiwi contain folic acid and stresses the vitamin C and B. So if you want to have a baby is very important including kiwi in your diet every day.
