My First Blogger award

I want to thank Norah at Norah's Menus and Recipes for the lovely award.




She has wonderful recipes, and I wholeheartedly agree with her in encouraging the use of locally grown produce. To get this award, I have to name 7 things about myself that you might find interesting.



  1. I work as a certified nursing assistant, and I really like my work.
  2. I enjoy woodworking
  3. I enjoy restoring antique furniture
  4. I once got to help restore the wooden body of a 1907 Cadillac model K.
  5. I enjoy raising houseplants and flowers, as well as vegetables.
  6. I believe that we should work on continuing to learn through out our lives (not necessarily just through formal education).
  7. I am actually shy and don't talk much, so the fact that I decided to blog is kind of interesting.

    Charlotte, thank you so much for thinking of me when deciding on how to pass the award on to. I am so doggone flattered and puffed up! However, I have chosen not to participate in the blogging awards activities. I could never in a million years decide who to give one to because I LOVE each and every single one of my followers and the blogs I follow. It would be like choosing, oh, I don't know, my favorite jam! They're all sweet and delicious in their own way. It means more to me when someone stops by and leaves a comment. That's the award that I hold dearest.

    Thanks again, Charlotte. You know I love coming here and hanging out with you and learning about preserving. It is a long-held desire of mine and one of these days, I promise, I WILL do this.
